The first weekend in December our friends the Dempseys came into town for a weekend visit. We had so much fun showing them around our part of Nashville the first day. They have one sweet little girl the same age as Libby. Our girls are so cute and sweet together. They miss each other terribly since we moved and often write “letters” to mail to one another. Their first day here we took all the kids to the trampoline park to jump and then to one of our favorite pizza places. We came back home while they spent some family time together looking at Christmas lights and exploring different parts of the city.
The second day they were here was the big day we had been planning for. We were all heading out to northern Kentucky to visit the Ark Encounter. We made the four hour drive north with many potty stops along the way. If you have never heard of Ark Encounter before, it is a life size replica of Noah’s ark built to biblical scale. Inside as you make your way through each level it tells the story of creation, the fall of man, all the way up to the present time. Every single detail has been thought of inside. As you walk you can hear rain, thunder, animal sounds, people talking and working, and the wood creaking. It was so lifelike. The animals were the kids favorite parts, and I have to say they were very lifelike as well! I think the adults all enjoyed reading facts about the ark and the people on board it. It was magnificent. Pictures truly cannot do justice to the size and wonder, but I am going to share a few of our pictures anyway.
If you are ever in the Cincinnati or Lexington area let me make a suggestion, make the drive over to see the Ark Encounter. We loved our family trip to the Ark Encounter and I really think you would too!
