Easy Christmas Treat
I didn’t plan on posting again until after Christmas but here I am squeezing out one more post. It was COLD yesterday morning when we woke up and very foggy. Thankfully Lee got to work from home, which meant I got to sit down to drink my coffee while he snuggled our kids.
Why are they still in bed? Oh because our house was 63 degrees when we got up! Our heat worked for a total of about twelve hours before “breaking” again. Thankfully the repairman came shortly after lunch and was able to get us running again. Apparently, the two problems we have had they are seeing a lot in new construction homes where things may not have been installed the best. HOPEFULLY this time it is going to stay working and all the kinks have been fixed.
Now the title of this post is Easy Christmas Treat…so let’s get to that!
Lee doesn’t ask for much, ever. When I was listing out all the Christmas treats and food I planned on making I asked Lee if there was anything he wanted. He asked for dipped peanut butter crackers like his Mom always makes. It was really my pleasure to make those for him. He really doesn’t ever ask for anything and I love to make him things that I know he will enjoy.
I am sharing in case you are looking for a last minute Christmas treat. This is a crowd pleaser in our family and bonus…it is the easiest ever! You could always up the Christmas factor by adding red or green sprinkles or coloring your almond bark. I took the quickest and easiest route and did neither 🙂
Ingredients:
1 package vanilla or chocolate almond bark
peanut butter
Ritz crackers
Melt the almond bark in a double boiler over simmering water.
Spread peanut butter over Ritz crackers and make a sandwich.
Dip crackers in melted almond bark, turning to coat.
Let cool on wax paper to allow almond bark to harden and enjoy!
That is it for me before Christmas. I still have gifts to wrap, food to cook and memories to make! If you are traveling this Christmas I pray that you have a safe journey. See you all back here soon!
xx- Katrina
Almost Christmas
It is almost Christmas! We are in full swing Christmas prep over here making snacks, food and wrapping gifts. Whitney is in full swing unwrapping gifts too. If you get a gift from us and it looks like the paper has been taped back together, it probably has!
Monday the kids and I hung around the house waiting for someone to come and fix our heat. It decided to only work sporadically.
I served the girls breakfast in our bed where it was warm and toasty. They had a little iPad time while they ate, I folded laundry and this handsome fella crawled around the room.
Lucky for us the man who was coming to repair our heat made it over here pretty early so the kids had a “second breakfast” at the table while he was crawling around our attic.
It was a quick and easy fix and he was here and gone pretty quickly. We have been warm and cozy ever since! We played a little more…
I was watching the girls and thought how they were so cute snuggling up together
Until Libby dumped Whitney out of the chair
Where’s Emry
Peek-A-Boo
My mother-in-law sent the girls these solar powered Christmas decorations and Libby loves watching them move in the sunlight.
Lee’s mom also made these cute pillow cases for the girls to add a little Christmas to their room. I love how they match the colors in their room perfectly!
As I was cleaning up lunch I realized that Cinderella was watching me
Lee came home and brought a pizza for dinner. We ate, played some more and the kids went to bed kind of early. I made homemade Chex mix to go with our cornflake candy. We are stocking up on all the holiday snacks!
For a Monday, it was a really good day!
