This past weekend we went to our first Pumpkin Fest in Franklin. It was a huge it with our little crew and I can see it becoming a yearly tradition. We got there right as it started at 10 and even though it was overcast and misty, the weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits!
We made our way through some of the local vendors on our way to the Kids Area. This street was blocked off and filled with a dozen bounce houses, obstacle courses, pony rides, and games of all sorts. You could get a balloon, your face painted, and lots of candy. Libby did it all and loved it all!!
After bouncing her heart out Libby played ALL the games. It didn’t take her long to realize that when you walked away from each game, you got to reach into the candy bucket. The only thing she passed on was the pony rides.
Whitney is still too small to play or bounce but she enjoyed all the sights from her stroller.
When we finished up in the Kids Area we found a spot to sit under the City Hall awning where the girls could eat some of the candy that Libby had gotten. Then we mad our way over to the rest of the local vendors to check things out. We stopped at the Murphy’s Garden stand to get a bird house for my Mother-in-Law’s Christmas. Along the way we stopped and listened to live music and watched ballerinas dancing.
We tried to get a family picture made. This was the best we could do…maybe next year!
We finished up with lunch at Merridee’s which was yummy. When we left Pumpkin Fest we made a run to Whole Foods before heading home to watch Alabama play Texas A&M. It was such a fun day!
