Today I want to talk about faith. My faith is an important part of my life. I have a personal relationship with Jesus and know that through Him I have eternal salvation. Faith is also important to my husband who walks with Jesus. We are raising our children to know Jesus and hopefully one day make the choice to have a personal relationship with Him and accept Him as their Lord and Savior.
With that being said there are times, like in every relationship, where you go through ebbs and flows. Sometimes your faith and walk with Jesus is at a high point and sometimes it isn’t. That doesn’t mean you have stopped believing or that He isn’t there with you, it just means that you have probably put other things before your relationship with Jesus. In this new year I am making a big effort to put more into my relationship with Jesus.
I have started using this app called First 5. You set a daily alarm and when you turn the alarm off it opens up a daily study that takes about 5 minutes to read and go through.
This past Monday we started studying the book of Exodus. If one of your goals this year is to strengthen your walk with Christ, or maybe even begin a walk with Him, let me encourage you to download this free app and dive into His word with me this year.
Another way I am strengthening my relationship with God is through church. We have started attended Cross Point Church here in Nashville. If you don’t have a church home come visit our church. I promise you will feel welcome and hear great music and an even better message.
This Sunday we are starting our January study called “I Quit”. This month instead of making resolutions of things we want to do we will study all the bad habits we need to quit. If you aren’t local you can still check out the sermons from Pastor Pete here.
Being a Christian in no way means that I fancy myself a perfect person. I am a big sinner with a bigger Savior. If you are looking to work on your faith this year, email me and let me pray for you this year. Or better yet, let’s pray for each other!
